Volkswagen has opened orders in Germany for the Tiguan EDITION 20, an anniversary model marking two decades of the SUV. In its announcement dated September 7, 2026, Volkswagen lists a starting price of €48,180 for the version equipped with the 1.5 TSI engine producing 110 kW (150 PS).
The German market is the confirmed scope of both the order opening and the quoted price. The announcement does not establish pricing, equipment or availability in other countries where the Tiguan is sold, so the €48,180 figure should not be read as a wider European price.
What the EDITION 20 adds to the Life trim
The Tiguan EDITION 20 is based on the Tiguan Life trim. It retains the standard equipment of that version while adding R-Line exterior elements and anniversary-specific details. That makes the edition a distinct specification within the existing Tiguan range, but its Life-based positioning remains central to the model.
Volkswagen has also created Maple Red metallic specifically for the Tiguan EDITION 20. The finish joins the R-Line treatment and dedicated anniversary details as part of the edition’s visual identity. The model is consequently defined by its exterior treatment and special-edition equipment rather than by a new vehicle line.
The €48,180 price applies to the German entry version with the 1.5 TSI engine. It does not cover every possible EDITION 20 configuration: Volkswagen says that every engine offered for the Tiguan Life from 110 kW (150 PS) can be ordered for the anniversary model. A complete engine-by-engine price list is not included, so customers will need to distinguish the published starting price from the cost of higher or differently configured versions.

The company also identifies it as the best-selling model in the Volkswagen Group since 2017. The Tiguan is currently produced in Wolfsburg, Germany, Puebla, Mexico, and Anting, China. Volkswagen markets it in more than 60 countries. That reach gives the anniversary model relevance beyond Germany, but it does not extend the commitments made in this announcement to those other markets.
For German shoppers, the immediate change is straightforward: the Life-based Tiguan EDITION 20 can now be ordered, with the 1.5 TSI version starting at €48,180. Buyers elsewhere do not yet have a confirmed local price or availability in the information announced here.
The EDITION 20 is therefore a design-led anniversary addition to the Tiguan range, with the Life trim as its foundation and R-Line and Maple Red details distinguishing it. Its availability and pricing outside Germany remain the practical points still awaiting confirmation.
